Sea Freight

Sea freight is a term used to refer to anything being transported from one place to another, usually long distance, by means of a ship. These items could range from documents and letters to goods and other products. Usually, only larger packages and containers that cannot be catered to by alternative modes and services with limited geographical reach are transported as Sea freight.

Sea freight is, at times, also referred to as Ocean freight or simply Shipment. The carriers used for the transport of such freight could be a ship or any other vessel that can traverse waters.  Operators can utilise and extend this service where there are shipping ports or other points along a coast pre-designated for this particular purpose.

When the destination cannot be reached overseas only then other modes may also be used in tandem to transport the freight so as to reach there.
